As we begin our new Building Fund Campaign (The Shoe Rally), God has began to deal with me on some things. One of my favorite sayings is "before you pass judgement put yourself into the other person's shoes". Now this helps me make better choices & consider the situation from a different perspective. However, this Shoe Rally is urging me to think a little deeper. No, Not the WWJD type of deal, but really exposing some stuff in me that has hindered me from breaking out & serving God & His people to the fullest.
Have you ever gone to an expensive store & seen some BANGING shoes that cost the equivalent to your rent/mortgage? You know them shoes that are seemingly made for your feet? Yeah, the ones that are so pretty that you are scared to try them on out of fear they will fit like a glove? And if they do fit then your disappointment will be more intense because you don't think that you will ever be able to afford to wear them outside of that store.
So what do we do? We tell ourselves that those shoes were NOT all of that. That they would rub up against our corns. That we didn't have nothing to wear with them nor to wear them too. We tell ourselves every negative thing, from they probably won't fit to they were made in a sweatshop. But secretly, we dream of one day having that shoe. Secretly, we want to feel just as valuable & valued as those shoe.
As a lover & follower of Jesus, I have been redeemed & bought with blood that is priceless. It is a daily reminder that I am worthy of THOSE shoes. And I can have them IF I have faith & ask G (my intimate name for the Trinity). I, like many of you, battle that sense of unworthiness, because we ARE, BUT GOD!!!! So, I welcome all of you to dig deeper during Chosen 4His Glory's Shoe Rally & see what God is saying to you about shoes...
Peace & Blessings
