Apostle David Andre Brown, Sr.

Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, David Andre Brown, Sr. is the eldest child of Apostle Linda D. Henry and the late Bishop Nathaniel (Mickey) Henry. He has five brothers and three sisters. He was raised in the St. Paul’s UAME church in Wilmington, Delaware, where he received his biblical foundation under the tutelage of great patriarchs and matriarchs of the Gospel such as Reverend Harris, Reverend Michael S. Moulden, Reverend Delores Loper, and Reverend Bessie Jones. His greatest spiritual influence came from his great-grandmother, the late Mother Irene Wilson. Mother Wilson set the standard for “training up a child in the way they should go” by making sure Apostle David and his siblings were in church “all day” every Sunday  – from Sunday school to the 11 a.m. service, the afternoon service, as well as the 7:00 p.m. evening services. Even as early as 10 years old, Pastor David served as an altar boy and an usher, and sang in the choir with The St. Paul’s Specials, The Harris Ensemble, and with The Sanctuary Choir. Pastor David’s entire family were deeply rooted and grounded in the church, and he rarely had opportunities to indulge in a lot of the teenage misbehavior that his peers at the time partook in. After his high school graduation from Howard Career Center in 1985, Apostle David strayed away from his upbringing in the church and began to experiment with drugs and alcohol. Marijuana and alcohol led to cocaine use, and by the age of 21, Apostle David was hooked on crack cocaine. This demon-inspired drug would become one of the greatest hindrances to his destiny. His oldest daughter was born in 1986, which should have discontinued his downward spiral. But, Satan had set in motion a plan that he thought would eliminate Apostle David’s future entirely. His addiction escalated, severely affecting his relationships with his family. Even the births of his other two children, in 1990 and 1991, and his attendance at Glorious Full Gospel Tabernacle Center, where his aunt, Apostle Patricia C. Williams, was pasturing, did not deter him from walking in his own ways. As a last resort, his parents intervened and sent him to Life Change Institute, under the tutelage of Bishop I.V. Hilliard and Dr. Bridget Hilliard, of New Light Christian Church in Houston, Texas in 2001. At the Life Change Institute, Apostle David began to build his relationship with Jesus Christ. He returned to Delaware and became a member of Higher Ground Ministries, International, under the tutelage of his parents. Apostle David was a big part of the ministry, serving wherever needed, and was ordained as Deacon in 2006. He was the sound engineer and served as a Deacon of the church, but still struggled with addiction. In 2002, God sent the woman whom He ordained to be his helpmeet into his life. On July 10, 2004, Apostle David married his soulmate, Apostle Cheryl Thacker-Brown, and together they began their lives. He attended Higher Ground Ministries School of the Bible, graduating with an Associates’ degree in theology, and ordained as Minister. In 2010, God led The Browns to start “Chosen 4His Glory Ministries, LLC”, which hosted a monthly Men’s Fellowship Group, a Women’s Fellowship Group, and a Marriage Fellowship Group right in the living room of their own home! In June 2013, Chosen 4His Glory Ministries, LLC, held its first Conference in Wilmington, Delaware, in which a MIGHTY MOVE OF GOD took place. In September, 2013, The Browns separated, with their divorce finalizing soon after. BUT GOD TURNED IT! The Browns were reconciled and remarried September 16, 2015! Currently residents of Ohio, affirmed as Apostles in the Lord's church, "The Brown Duo” go forth in ministry, with a weekly Bible Study, "Walking Out The Word", monthly fellowships called "Saved, Single, & Sober”; M.O.R. (Men On The Run); The Marriage Fellowship Group; and W.O.W.W.W. (Women Of Wisdom, Worship, & WAR), as well as delivering the Word of God to congregations throughout the Mahoning Valley area, and wherever the Lord leads. Apostle David is living proof that what the enemy means for bad, God will always turn it around for our good and His glory! His favorite scripture, which he lives and quotes often, is Mark 11:22-23: “Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”.
